Eclipse Reloads go beyond most other refill systems environmentally, with a Low Carbon footprint that redefines what it means to be sustainable. All Eclipse packaging is made from renewable materials; printing inks are vegetable based. Eclipse uses the industry’s first compostable bio-plastic, non-petroleum components.

Our Impact

At Light Labs, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment.

*Recycle- Cardboard boxes and all packaging materials are re-used at Light Labs. Our boxes might not look as nice as some companies', but we dont believe in wasting perfectly good boxes. Light Labs also recycles nearly all of the paper waste generated through normal business activities.
*Green Practices - Emailing invoices cuts down on paper use and e-faxing decreases our paper use by 50%.
*Fluorescent lighting – Used throughout warehouse and office areas.
*Renewable energy – Light Labs is powered by Green Mountan Energy.
*Products are environmentally sustainable – New e∙dek tips (coming soon) are packaged in 100% recyclable racks, Eclipse Reload Pipette Tips minimize packaging waste, QuickRack tip reload systems allow you to re-use plastic racks, and bulk pipette tips contain minimal packaging. In addition, other product components can be re-used for trays or plate holders in the lab.

Why Green?

An estimated 4,000,000 lbs of plastic from pipette tip racks is deposited each year in landfills around the world. That is just one year! Imagine how much plastic is wasted over your lifetime. Plastic does not degrade so even though they are buried in a landfill, they are not going anywhere.

Light Labs realizes that there is a need within the scientific community for earth friendly products that will reduce the impact that science has on the environment. Refilling tip racks is a simple way to create less waste. But how much waste is generated in simply packaging products? Many pipette tip reload systems generate substantial waste in their packaging, tip wafers, and bases.
